Defenders: Thomas Meunier, Manuel Akanji, Mats Hummels, Raphael Guerreiro

With Raphael Guerreiro fit again, we will see the return of the back four formation. The Portuguese international’s absence was heavily felt over the past month. And his return will add another dimension to Borussia Dortmund’s attacking play.

Thomas Meunier will start at right-back, looking to build on his impressive start to the season. The Belgian international brilliantly set up Marco Reus’ goal against RB Leipzig two weeks ago, bringing his assist tally for the season to four.

Manuel Akanji and Mats Hummels will start as the two centre-backs. Both players were able to get some much-needed rest during the international break. Hummels wasn’t called up by Germany, while Akanji returned home early from international duty as he was suspended for Switzerland’s second game.

Marco Rose confirmed during his pre-match press conference that Dan-Axel Zagadou will play for the U-23s on Saturday.
