Sebastian Kehl praises Emre Can and Mahmoud Dahoud for their performance against Wolfsburg

Emre Can and Mahmoud Dahoud played a key role in helping Borussia Dortmund earn a 3-1 win over Wolfsburg. And Sebastian Kehl has praised the duo for the way they dealt with everything over the course of the game.
Emre Can and Mahmoud Dahoud both made their returns to the Borussia Dortmund starting XI on Saturday against Wolfsburg following their recent returns from their respective injuries. Can replaced Axel Witsel in the number six role, while Dahoud came into the team for the injured Jude Bellingham.
The duo added some much needed freshness and aggression to Dortmund’s midfield. And their dominance in the middle of the park was crucial to the Black and Yellows getting the three points.
Both Can and Dahoud played with great energy and helped Borussia Dortmund press high up the pitch with more purpose. And Can even scored from the spot in the first half to help Marco Rose’s side get back on level terms after Wolfsburg had taken the lead early on.
Sebastian Kehl heaped praise on Borussia Dortmund’s midfield duo for their performance against Wolfsburg. The BVB head of players’ department said that both Dahoud and Can put in a committed performance to help the team get the three points on Saturday.
"“I really liked the way Emre and Mo dealt with the situation,” Kehl told Ruhr Nachrichten. “Neither of them is back in rhythm yet after their injuries. You could also see that something is still missing. But both were very committed, eager to run, and Emre even took responsibility for the penalty kick.”"
With Jude Bellingham a doubt for this weekend’s crunch Bundesliga clash against Bayern Munich, chances are that we could see Emre Can and Mahmoud Dahoud start in midfield once again. And if they play like they did against Wolfsburg, Borussia Dortmund will fancy their chances of dominating the all-important midfield battle.
