RB Salzburg talent Karim Adeyemi has said that he hasn’t yet made a decision on his future, amid rumours heavily linking him with a move to Borussia Dortmund.

Reported Borussia Dortmund target Karim Adeyemi scored his first career hat-trick for RB Salzburg this past weekend in their game against WSG Tirol. Adeyemi also provided the assist for their fifth goal of the night, capping off an incredible performance.

In an interview with Sky Sport Austria, Adeyemi addressed the incessant rumors linking him with a move to the Bundesliga, stating that:

Nothing has been decided yet and I’m still with Salzburg next year and that’s absolutely my focus. I have no tendency. My head is here in Salzburg and I’m looking forward to the Champions League with Salzburg. We want to get everything out of it.” – Karim Adeyemi, Sky Sport Austria

Reports have claimed in recent weeks that Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are the two main clubs vying for the player’s signature, with the Schwarzgelben “holding the better cards” in this respect. The player has already allegedly agreed personal terms with Dortmund, which points to a move the the Westfalenstadion being likely.

Taking into account Adeyemi’s comments about being excited to play in the Champions League at the turn of the year, it stands to reason that any potential deal will at best see the German striker sign for Dortmund in the winter and be loaned back out to the Austrian club until the following season. They finished second in a group that contained Lille, Sevilla and Wolfsburg, which is no small feat for the Austrian side.

This news will be slightly disappointing for those who would like to see Adeyemi play alongside Erling Haaland this season. The Norwegian international’s current situation is uncertain and Adeyemi making the move to the Bundesliga this winter would have been the best bet to have them on the pitch together.

All in all however, I believe Dortmund should do everything within reason to secure Adeyemi’s signature. He is by far one of the most exciting German talents of this generation and will be an asset in attack for years to come should he don the black and yellow.
