Mino Raiola not ruling out another year at Borussia Dortmund for Erling Haaland
Mino Raiola has said that it is possible Erling Haaland could stay at Borussia Dortmund beyond the end of the current season.
Even though the summer transfer window is still more than six months away, speculation about Erling Haaland’s future is dominating headlines across Europe. The Borussia Dortmund striker is attracting the interest of the biggest clubs in the world, including Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Manchester City, Manchester United, Paris St. Germain and Chelsea.
Mino Raiola added more fuel to the speculation earlier this month when he claimed that there is a big chance Haaland will leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer. But he has now said that staying in Dortmund is still very much a possibility for the 21 year old. In an interview with NOS, Haaland’s agent also revealed that a decision on the striker’s future has not yet been made.
"“We don’t have a pre-agreement with any club,” Raiola said. “We’ll look for the best option for him and I can’t rule out another year at Dortmund either. Theoretically, that’s still possible.”"
Hans-Joachim Watzke said on Sunday that staying at Borussia Dortmund for at least another year would be good for Haaland’s development. But he also added that the decision rests in the Norwegian international’s hands.
The BVB bosses have maintained that they aren’t under any financial pressure to sell Haaland in the summer. They are due to hold talks with the Haaland camp about the player’s future in the coming weeks and months.
Haaland, who has scored 76 goals in just 75 appearances for Borussia Dortmund since joining the club in January 2020, has three years left on his current contract. His contract reportedly contains a release clause which will come into effect in the summer.
