Jude Bellingham feels that he is learning an incredible amount at Borussia Dortmund. For the midfielder, there is no better club in the world.
Jude Bellingham has enjoyed a spectacular rise over the past 18 months, and has developed into one of the best young midfielders in the world since joining Borussia Dortmund. The 18 year old’s performances have seen him become one of the most coveted players across Europe, but he believes that Borussia Dortmund is the best club for him and his development.
"“BVB is the best club for me and my development,” Bellingham said in a documentary about him on Sky. “I would even go so far as to say that there’s no better club for me anywhere in the world!”"
Bellingham has become one of the first names on the team-sheet for Borussia Dortmund this season. He has dominated games with his incredible tenacity, determination, energy and hard-work. He has made a total of 24 appearances for the Black and Yellows so far this season, scoring three goals and registering nine assists. But his impact in the middle of the park has been far greater than those numbers suggest.
Bellingham’s performances last season also helped him earn a call-up to England’s Euro 2020 squad. And he says that playing in the European Championships, where he helped his country reach the final, was an incredible feeling.
"“It was an incredible feeling to play in the European Championships with England. I also don’t think that the final defeat hangs like a shadow over everything. No one should forget that we played a very successful tournament.”“After the European Championships I came back to Dortmund full of confidence. I have become technically and physically stronger, I have really improved in all areas.”"
Borussia Dortmund signed Bellingham from hometown club Birmingham City for a fee of 25 million euros in 2019. And he feels that the fact that they spent that much money on him during the Covid-19 pandemic was quite incredible.
"“Who would spend so much money on such a young player, and that too during the covid pandemic? I knew Dortmund was a big club, but I didn’t realise how big it was until I took my first selfie in the huge and fantastic stadium.”"
Bellingham’s performances have seen him become a real fan favourite at Borussia Dortmund. And fans will be hoping that he stays at the club for many years to come.
