Marius Wolf has become the latest Borussia Dortmund player to test positive for Covid-19 and is now in quarantine.

Borussia Dortmund have received another blow ahead of the start of the second half of the season, with Marius Wolf testing positive for Covid-19. The Black and Yellows have revealed that the versatile wide player returned a positive test after the end of his Christmas vacation in Austria.

Borussia Dortmund have also announced that Wolf has not had any contact yet with the rest of his teammates. The 26 year old is now in quarantine at home, and is currently symptom free. He will miss this weekend’s Bundesliga clash against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Wolf has become the second Borussia Dortmund player to test positive for Covid-19 over the last few days. Dan-Axel Zagadou also returned a positive test on Sunday just before returning to Dortmund from his vacation. The defender is quarantining in Dubai at the moment. It remains to be seen whether Wolf and Zagadou will be available for next Friday’s Bundesliga home game against SC Freiburg.

Borussia Dortmund began their preparations for the second half of the season on Monday. The players trained in small groups and also underwent Covid-19 tests. According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Wolf was not involved in Monday’s training session.

In addition to Wolf and Zagadou, Marco Rose will also have to make do without Manuel Akanji for Dortmund’s game against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday. The Swiss centre-back has not yet fully recovered after undergoing a minor knee surgery last month.
