Borussia Dortmund will have to make do without Emre Can for at least their next two games, with the versatile midfielder sidelined due to a muscle injury.

Borussia Dortmund have received another injury blow, with Emre Can ruled out for at least the next two games. The German international suffered a muscle injury in the adductor area during the Black and Yellows’ 5-1 win over SC Freiburg on Friday. And Dortmund have now confirmed that he will miss the games against St. Pauli and TSG Hoffenheim as a result.

Emre Can suffered his injury in the first half of Borussia Dortmund’s win over SC Freiburg. After receiving a bit of treatment on the sidelines, the 28 year old decided to carry on playing for the rest of the half. He was then replaced by Manuel Akanji at half time. And the Switzerland international will likely come into the starting XI on Tuesday.

Marin Pongracic and Axel Witsel are the other options available to Marco Rose. While Dan-Axel Zagadou could also return to the squad after missing the last two games.

Thomas Meunier is also an injury doubt ahead of Tuesday’s game. The right-back had to be subbed off against Freiburg after picking up a knock. At the moment, it remains to be seen whether he will be able to play on Tuesday. Marius Wolf will likely come into the lineup if Meunier is unable to play from the start.
