Real Madrid would reportedly prefer to wait until 2023 to sign Erling Haaland, and they have already indicated that to the Borussia Dortmund striker.
Erling Haaland continues to be linked with a move away from Borussia Dortmund, with some of Europe’s biggest clubs interested in signing him. Real Madrid are said to be leading the race for his signature, but they are not planning to make a move for him this summer.
This is being reported by Ruhr Nachrichten, who add that they have already informed the Erling Haaland camp of their plans. Real Madrid are planning to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer, which will take up the majority of their funds. And the Spanish giants also have Karim Benzema, who has 18 months left on his current contract.
According to the newspaper, Real Madrid’s proposal is that Haaland stays at Borussia Dortmund for another year and then moves to the Spanish capital in 2023. The BVB bosses have made it clear that they want the Norwegian international to stay at the club for another season. And reports have claimed that they are even willing to double his salary.
Talks between the two parties to discuss Haaland’s future are expected to take place in the coming weeks. But Ruhr Nachrichten believe that the striker will likely take his time before making a decision on his future.
FC Barcelona, Manchester City and Paris St. Germain are also said to be interested in signing Haaland, who has two and a half years left on his Borussia Dortmund contract.
