Borussia Dortmund interested in signing highly rated PSG winger Djeidi Gassama
Borussia Dortmund are said to be interested in signing talented Paris St. Germain winger Djeidi Gassama, who has been making waves in the UEFA Youth League.
Borussia Dortmund have some of the world’s most promising young players in their ranks. And they are interested in signing another highly rated youngster, with Paris St. Germain winger Djeidi Gassama in their sights. According to RMC and BILD, the Black and Yellows are looking to sign the 18 year old winger, who has less than 18 months left on his current contract with PSG.
BILD claim that Borussia Dortmund chief scout Marcus Pilawa traveled to France to watch Gassama in action recently. And he even held talks with the winger and his agent there.
Gassama has been in excellent form for the Paris St. Germain U-19s this season. He has found the back of the net five times in just six appearances in the UEFA Youth League. His best performance came against Manchester City in the group stage, as he scored two goals and assisted the third to lead PSG to a 3-1 win.
Borussia Dortmund are not the only club interested in signing Gassama. Wolverhampton Wanderers were also linked with the winger in the January transfer window, but a move did not materialise in the end.
Borussia Dortmund have signed a number of talented youngsters from PSG in recent years. Dan-Axel Zagadou joined on a free transfer in 2017, while Soumaila Coulibaly and Abdoulaye Kamara both arrived last summer. Zagadou has already established himself as a first-team regular, and there are high hopes that Coulibaly and Kamara could also play for the first-team in the coming years.
