Thomas Meunier faces at least two months on the sidelines after suffering a thigh injury in the second leg of the Rangers tie.

Thomas Meunier had to be subbed off at half time in the second leg of Borussia Dortmund’s UEFA Europa League tie against Rangers on Thursday after picking up an injury. Now the Black and Yellows have announced that he has a torn tendon in his thigh that will keep him out for at least the next two months.

Borussia Dortmund have not yet revealed exactly how long Meunier will be out for, only that he will not be available in March and April. Marco Rose’s side only have two games scheduled for May. So it is quite possible that the Belgian international will not be able to play again this season.

Meunier’s injury is another big blow for Borussia Dortmund, who have had to deal with one injury crisis after another this season.

Meunier, himself, has had to deal with a number of injuries this season. And he was only making his return from a previous muscle injury on Thursday, before getting injured once again just 45 minutes later.

Borussia Dortmund also face a shortage at right-back following Meunier’s injury. With Mateu Morey also on the road to recovery from a serious knee injury, Felix Passlack is the only available right-back in the BVB squad at the moment. But he hasn’t featured for the first-team since December.

Marius Wolf and Emre Can can also play in that role, and will likely fill in for Meunier in the coming months.
