Borussia Dortmund received a double boost on Friday, as both Erling Haaland and Gio Reyna made their returns to training.

Borussia Dortmund’s injury situation is starting to ease up a bit, with both Erling Haaland and Gio Reyna back on the training pitch. Ruhr Nachrichten report that the duo took part in the training session on Friday afternoon, giving the Black and Yellows a big boost for their remaining games in the Bundesliga.

Haaland suffered a muscle injury in late January and was forced to miss a number of crunch games last month as Borussia Dortmund were knocked out of the UEFA Europa League by Rangers. The hope will be that he can finally make his long-awaited return to the BVB squad for next weekend’s Bundesliga clash against Arminia Bielefeld.

Gio Reyna is also closing in on his comeback and could potentially be an option for the Arminia Bielefeld game.

The USMNT international only made his return to the Borussia Dortmund starting XI in the game against Borussia Mönchengladbach last month. But he suffered another injury during that game and was ruled out for a couple of weeks.

Both Haaland and Reyna have been forced to spend plenty of time on the sidelines due to injuries this season. So Borussia Dortmund will want to make sure that they do not rush the duo back into action.

The postponement of this weekend’s Bundesliga clash against Mainz 05 gives the injured Borussia Dortmund players more time to work on recovering and getting back to full fitness.
