Niklas Süle eyeing two trophies with Bayern Munich before joining Borussia Dortmund in the summer
Niklas Süle has said that he is determined to give his all and help Bayern Munich win two trophies before joining Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
Niklas Süle agreed a deal to join Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer in the summer last month. The defender’s decision to join BVB caught everyone by surprise, including those in charge at Bayern Munich. It was widely expected that Süle would move to the English Premier League before the Black and Yellows swooped in.
While Süle’s decision to join Borussia Dortmund has no doubt upset a lot of Bayern supporters, the reaction from the fans has not been as bad as one might have expected.
Süle is grateful for the support of the Bayern fans. And he wants to help the Bavarians win the Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League before leaving the club in the summer.
In an interview with Sky after Bayern Munich’s 1-1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen, Süle also promised that he will give his all for the team right up until the very end.
"“I am very grateful. The situation is not easy. I had expected against Fürth that there might be a few whistles. But the fans’ reaction reflected the feeling I’ve had from them for five years. I’ll give everything for this club until the last day, and hopefully win two more titles.”"
Süle continued his fine run of form for Bayern with an impressive performance against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday. The German international opened the scoring with a well taken finish, before Thomas Müller’s own goal helped Leverkusen get back on level terms.
The draw helped Bayern Munich extend their lead at the top of the Bundesliga standings to nine points. Although Borussia Dortmund do have a game in hand.
Julian Nagelsmann’s side are due to host RB Salzburg in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie on Tuesday. The tie is fascinatingly poised after the 1-1 draw in the first leg.
