Report: Borussia Dortmund’s talks with RB Salzburg over Karim Adeyemi transfer stall

Talks between Borussia Dortmund and RB Salzburg over the transfer of Karim Adeyemi have stalled, with the two clubs quite far apart in their valuations of the forward.

Karim Adeyemi has been heavily linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund over the last few months. The Black and Yellows have already reached an agreement on personal terms with the RB Salzburg forward. The two clubs have been in concrete talks over the transfer fee, and Michael Zorc and Sebastian Kehl were even spotted in Salzburg in late January.

But Ruhr Nachrichten are now reporting that talks between Borussia Dortmund and RB Salzburg have stalled. The two clubs are said to be so far apart in their valuations of the 20 year old, that it is by no means certain that the transfer will even take place in the summer.

It has been widely reported that RB Salzburg want a transfer fee in the region of 40 million euros for Adeyemi. While Borussia Dortmund would like to sign the German international for less than 30 million euros.

Adeyemi is attracting the interest of a number of top clubs in Europe, including FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, Liverpool and Atletico Madrid. But his preference is to join Borussia Dortmund. So it will be interesting to see how this situation develops in the coming weeks.

Adeyemi has 19 goals and four assists to his name in 33 appearances for RB Salzburg so far this season. He will be looking to keep his fine run of form going on Tuesday as the Austrian giants go up against Bayern Munich in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League tie.
