Ten Borussia Dortmund first-team players will be away with their respective national teams over the next ten days as club football takes a breather.

The final international break of the 2021/22 season is here and there is plenty to play for. Ten Borussia Dortmund first-team players will be in action for their national teams, with Raphael Guerreiro and Gio Reyna both looking to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Raphael Guerreiro and Portugal will take on Turkey in the qualification playoffs this week. And if they manage to see off the challenge of Turkey, they will face one of Italy and North Macedonia next week with a place in this year’s FIFA World Cup on the line.

Gio Reyna is back in the USMNT squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Mexico, Panama and Costa Rica. The United States are currently second in the CONCACAF Octagonal standings and will automatically qualify for the World Cup if they win two of their final three games.

Manuel Akanji and Gregor Kobel have been called up by Switzerland for their upcoming friendlies against England and Kosovo. They could face Jude Bellingham, who is part of the England squad. The Three Lions will also go up against Ivory Coast next week.
