Jamie Bynoe-Gittens could make his first-team debut on Friday after being included in Borussia Dortmund’s squad for their away game against VfB Stuttgart.

Highly rated winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens has been named in the first-team squad for Borussia Dortmund’s upcoming Bundesliga clash against VfB Stuttgart. The 17 year old could be set to make his professional debut on Friday evening after impressing for the U-19s team in recent weeks.

According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Bynoe-Gittens was part of the Borussia Dortmund squad that traveled to Stuttgart on Thursday. And he is now in line for his first-team debut.

Bynoe-Gittens, who joined Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City in 2020, has been in excellent form for the U-19s this season. He has ten goals and three assists to his name in just 13 appearances for Mike Tullberg’s side. Six of those goals came in the UEFA Youth League, as he helped the Black and Yellows reach the quarterfinals before they suffered a narrow defeat against Atletico Madrid.

Incoming Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl and director of youth performance centre Lars Ricken have both said in recent weeks that Bynoe-Gittens will be a part of the first-team plans starting from next season. And the winger could get his first taste of first-team football on Friday.

While Bynoe-Gittens made the trip to Stuttgart, Donyell Malen did not. It remains to be seen why the Netherlands international was not included in Borussia Dortmund’s traveling squad for Friday’s game. Marco Rose said during his pre-match press conference on Thursday that he has full confidence in Malen’s ability.
