Ansgar Knauff and Eintracht Frankfurt sealed their place in the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League on the back of an incredible win over FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou.

Ansgar Knauff put in another impressive performance on Thursday evening as Eintracht Frankfurt defeated FC Barcelona 3-2 to qualify for the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League. Supported by an incredible 30,000 away fans at the Camp Nou, the Eagles pulled off one of the biggest shocks of the tournament so far and knocked out Barcelona, who were the clear favourites to win the competition.

Eintracht Frankfurt made a dream start to the game and took the lead in just the fourth minute through Filip Kostic, who scored from the spot after Jesper Lindstrøm was brought down inside the box. Rafael Santos Borré then made it 2-0 on the night with a sublime long-range strike, before Kostic scored again in the second half to make it 3-0.

FC Barcelona scored twice in the second half stoppage time, but it wasn’t enough as Eintracht Frankfurt celebrated a historic win.

Fresh off his stunning first leg goal, Knauff delivered another excellent performance for Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday. The Borussia Dortmund loanee played at right wing-back and caused the Barcelona defenders all sorts of problems, while also looking solid defensively.

Knauff, who joined Eintracht Frankfurt on an 18-month loan deal in January, has two goals to his name in 12 appearances for Oliver Glasner’s side.
