Gregor Kobel set to miss Bayern game after suffering an injury in training

Borussia Dortmund will have to make do without Gregor Kobel against Bayern Munich on Saturday after the goalkeeper suffered an injury in training.
Borussia Dortmund’s injury woes have been well documented this season. The Black and Yellows are set to be without a number of key players against Bayern Munich on Saturday, including Mats Hummels, Gio Reyna, Mahmoud Dahoud and Donyell Malen. Gregor Kobel will also be forced to miss the trip to Munich after suffering an injury in training.
Kobel suffered his injury after a collision with Jude Bellingham during Tuesday’s training session. And Marco Rose confirmed during his pre-match press conference on Thursday that he will miss the Bayern game. The BVB head coach added that his injury will take one or two weeks to fully heel.
Kobel has been one of Borussia Dortmund’s top performers this season, so his absence is a big blow for the team. Second-choice goalkeeper Marwin Hitz could be in line for his fourth appearance of the season on Saturday.
Ruhr Nachrichten report that Dan-Axel Zagadou, Marius Wolf and Axel Witsel also missed Wednesday’s training session. While Witsel has an infection and will miss Saturday’s trip to Munich, it remains to be seen if Zagadou and Wolf will be available.
Meanwhile, Raphael Guerreiro is expected to make his return to the squad this weekend after missing the game against Wolfsburg due to a muscle injury. Felix Passlack is also set to return to the squad.
Borussia Dortmund will be looking to prevent Bayern Munich from clinching the Bundesliga title on Saturday.
