Karim Adeyemi set to join Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund are set to complete the signing of highly rated RB Salzburg and Germany forward Karim Adeyemi.
After months of speculation and negotiations, Karim Adeyemi is finally closing in on his move to Borussia Dortmund. According to Kicker, an agreement between all three parties is now imminent and the transfer is close to completion.
Sky Sport reported last week that Borussia Dortmund and RB Salzburg have reached an agreement in principle over the transfer fee. And the Black and Yellows will reportedly pay 35 million euros for the 20 year old’s signature.
Kicker add that Adeyemi will not be the direct replacement for Erling Haaland, who is set to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer. The Norwegian international is being heavily linked with a move to Manchester City.
Borussia Dortmund have held a long-term interest in signing Adeyemi. And while the German international has also attracted the interest of a number of other top clubs, including Liverpool, Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, PSG and FC Barcelona, his preference has always been to join Borussia Dortmund.
Adeyemi is enjoying an impressive breakthrough campaign with RB Salzburg, and has 20 goals and five assists to his name in 39 appearances across all competitions. He also helped his side qualify for the UEFA Champions League round of 16, where they were knocked out by Bayern Munich.
If the transfer goes through, Adeyemi will become Borussia Dortmund’s second signing of the summer transfer window after Niklas Süle. BVB are also interested in signing Nico Schlotterbeck from SC Freiburg. And reports claimed earlier this week that the defender has already agreed to a move to Dortmund.
