Borussia Dortmund go up against the already relegated Greuther Fürth this weekend in their penultimate game of the season.
There are just two games left in what has been a rather underwhelming season for Borussia Dortmund. The Black and Yellows suffered a shock 4-3 defeat to VfL Bochum last weekend, and they will now be aiming to return to winning ways as they face Greuther Fürth, who have already been relegated from the Bundesliga.
Borussia Dortmund’s injury situation has not eased up yet, which means that Mats Hummels, Gregor Kobel, Thomas Meunier, Mahmoud Dahoud, Donyell Malen, Gio Reyna, Thorgan Hazard, Mateu Morey and Steffen Tigges will all miss Saturday’s game.
The only returnee for Saturday’s game will be Emre Can, who missed last weekend’s home game against Bochum through suspension. Erling Haaland has been dealing with an illness, but has traveled to Fürth.
Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Tom Rothe and Lion Semic will not be available for the first-team, as they will play for the BVB U-19s in the first leg of their U-19 Bundesliga semi-final against Schalke 04 on Saturday.
Borussia Dortmund U-23s duo Justin Njinmah and Immanuel Pherai have been training with the first-team this week, and look set to be included in the squad on Saturday.
Greuther Fürth will be without injured duo Havard Nielsen and Marco Meyerhöfer, as well as the suspended Jetro Willems. But they will be hoping to welcome Max Christiansen and Paul Seguin back into the squad following their recent injury lay-offs.
Former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Tobias Raschl will also be aiming to make an impression against his former club.
