Report: Borussia Dortmund eyeing Rasmus Kristensen as an option for right-back
RB Salzburg right-back Rasmus Kristensen could reportedly be an option for Borussia Dortmund as they look to bolster their defence ahead of next season.
Preparations for the summer transfer window are well and truly underway at Borussia Dortmund, and they have already completed the signings of Niklas Süle and Nico Schlotterbeck. More reinforcements are set to arrive in the coming weeks, as the Black and Yellows look to build a squad that can challenge Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga title next season.
Right-back is an area Borussia Dortmund could potentially look to strengthen in the summer. And BILD are claiming that BVB have RB Salzburg’s Rasmus Kristensen in mind as a potential candidate.
Kristensen is enjoying an impressive season at RB Salzburg, and has ten goals and eights assists to his name in 42 appearances across all competitions. The 24 year old is an attack minded full-back who would be well suited to Marco Rose’s style of play.
But it still remains to be seen just how high signing a new right-back is on Borussia Dortmund’s list of priorities for the summer transfer window. Thomas Meunier and Mateu Morey will both be looking to recover from their injuries and return to full fitness by the start of pre-season. So the BVB bosses will likely have to sell one of them in order to bring in a new right-back this summer.
Borussia Dortmund are also said to be considering a move for Ramy Bensebaini. SportBILD claimed on Wednesday that a move for the Gladbach left-back is close, but everything will likely depend on the futures of Raphael Guerreiro and Nico Schulz.
