Borussia Dortmund will be aiming to end their season on a high as they go up against Hertha BSC in the Bundesliga this weekend.

The final game of the 2021/22 season is upon us, and we could be in for a very emotional day at the Westfalenstadion on Saturday as Borussia Dortmund take on Hertha BSC. Club legends Michael Zorc and Marcel Schmelzer are both set to retire at the end of the season. And the likes of Axel Witsel, Erling Haaland and Dan-Axel Zagadou will also be bidding farewell to the BVB fans.

Borussia Dortmund have already secured second place in the Bundesliga. But Hertha BSC still have plenty to play for. The Berliners are 15th in the Bundesliga standings, three points clear of 16th placed Stuttgart. So they would slip into the relegation play-off spot with a defeat, combined with a Stuttgart win, on Saturday.

Borussia Dortmund will again be without a number of key players on Saturday, although Gregor Kobel and Thomas Meunier could be back in the squad after returning to training this week. Marco Rose is unlikely to make too many changes to the starting XI that dispatched Greuther Fürth last weekend.

Hertha Berlin will be without goalkeepers Alexander Schwolow and Rune Jarstein, so the Borussia Dortmund-bound Marcel Lotka will start between the sticks on Saturday. Marvin Plattenhardt and Dedryck Boyata are expected to be available after overcoming their recent injury problems. Stevan Jovetić is also set to make his return to the squad.
