Five Borussia Dortmund players have been named in the Germany squad for their upcoming UEFA Nations League quadruple header.
Hansi Flick has announced his 26-man Germany squad for their upcoming UEFA Nations League games against Italy, England and Hungary, and five Borussia Dortmund players have been included.
Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus is back in the Germany squad after missing the March international break. He will be joined in the Germany squad by the Black and Yellows’ three new signings. Niklas Süle, Nico Schlotterbeck and Karim Adeyemi will all be on national team duty next month. Julian Brandt, who found his form in the final weeks of the season, has also been called up by Hansi Flick.
Mats Hummels and Mahmoud Dahoud, who have both been dealing with injuries in recent weeks, have not been included in the Germany squad. There was also no place in the squad for Emre Can or Nico Schulz.
The Germany players will head to Marbella next week for a training camp. Die Mannschaft are set to take on Euro 2020 winners Italy in their UEFA Nations League opener on June 04. They will then take on England three days later, before facing Hungary on June 11. Germany’s final game of the international break will see them go up against Italy in Mönchengladbach on June 14.
Germany are in League A Group 3 of the UEFA Nations League. They will be hoping to make the Nations League finals this time around, having missed out in each of the first two editions of the tournament.
Germany have won eight and drawn one of their nine games since Hansi Flick took over as head coach.
