Borussia Dortmund eyeing former Bayern trainer Peter Hermann for Edin Terzic’s coaching staff
Borussia Dortmund will reportedly look to appoint former Bayern Munich and Schalke 04 assistant coach Peter Hermann to Edin Terzic’s coaching staff.
Borussia Dortmund’s decision to part ways with Marco Rose sent shockwaves through the German footballing world this week. Former interim head coach and current technical director Edin Terzic is expected to be named as Rose’s successor, and his appointment could be made official very soon.
Multiple reports claim that Borussia Dortmund are planning to add former Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich and Schalke 04 assistant coach Peter Hermann to Terzic’s coaching staff.
The 70 year old was the Bayern Munich assistant coach under Jupp Heynckes and Niko Kovac, and recently helped Schalke 04 win promotion to the Bundesliga as co-trainer to Mike Büskens. His contract with the Royal Blues is set to expire at the end of the season. And he could now be set for a move to arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund.
According to WAZ, Terzic told the BVB bosses even before there was talk of him potentially replacing Rose, that he would like to bring in someone experienced to his staff if he were to become head coach again. Hermann, who began his coaching career in the late 1980s, would no doubt bring plenty of experience and know-how to the Borussia Dortmund coaching staff.
In addition to Hermann, Sebastian Geppert is also set to be a part of Terzic’s coaching team. Geppert, who is currently the head coach of the Borussia Dortmund U-17s, also worked with the first-team when Terzic replaced Lucien Favre in December 2020.
