Edin Terzic is determined to lead Borussia Dortmund to success after being confirmed as the club’s new permanent head coach.

Edin Terzic is set to make his return to the Borussia Dortmund dugout, this time as permanent head coach. The 39 year old signed a three year contract to take over as the BVB head coach on Tuesday, and sent a passionate message to the supporters ahead of the start of the new season.

In a video released by the club, Terzic addressed the Borussia Dortmund supporters and said:

"“Let’s be hungrier than ever before, let’s work harder than ever before, let’s be more positive than ever before, And most importantly, let’s be louder than ever before. Then I am sure that we will have the great opportunity to celebrate one day like never before. With that in mind, I will see you soon in the most beautiful stadium in the world.”"

Terzic, who was a Borussia Dortmund supporter growing up, took over as interim head coach in December 2020 after Lucien Favre was sacked. He surpassed all expectations and guided the Black and Yellows to the DFB-Pokal title last year. He also helped his side finish in the top four on the back of an incredible seven game winning run.

Terzic then made way for Marco Rose and was appointed the club’s technical director. But he is now back as head coach following the BVB bosses’ decision to part ways with Marco Rose.

Edin Terzic will have his task cut out as he looks to get Borussia Dortmund back on track following an underwhelming season under Marco Rose. Dortmund finished second behind Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga standings, but failed to meet expectations in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and the DFB-Pokal.

And the hope will be that with Terzic at the helm, Dortmund can finally build on their encouraging end to the 2020/21 season.
