Borussia Dortmund announce pre-season friendly against Lüner SV

Borussia Dortmund will begin their pre-season preparations with a friendly match against Westfalenliga 1 side Lüner SV.

Borussia Dortmund have announced that the first-team will go up against sixth division side Lüner SV in their first pre-season friendly ahead of the new season. The Edin Terzic era will get underway at the Kampfbahn Schwansbell in the city of Lünen on July 05, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00 CEST.

The BVB players are set to return to Dortmund for the start of pre-season training on June 27. And the first pre-season friendly will take place eight days later.

It remains to be seen if the 15 Borussia Dortmund players who are currently on international duty will be available for the pre-season friendly against Lüner SV. But Edin Terzic will likely have a strong squad available to him regardless, and a number of young players will also get the chance to feature.

The Black and Yellows will reveal the rest of their pre-season schedule in the coming days and weeks. The first-team is expected to play up to four pre-season friendlies this summer. And Borussia Dortmund will also head to Bad Ragaz in Switzerland once again for a week-long training camp to prepare for the start of the new season.

Borussia Dortmund’s first competitive game of the new season will see them take on third division side TSV 1860 München in the first round of the DFB-Pokal. The tie is scheduled to take place between 29 July and 01 August. The 2022/23 Bundesliga season is set to get underway on 05 August.
