Borussia Dortmund have announced the appointments of Peter Hermann and Sebastian Geppert, with the duo joining Edin Terzic’s coaching staff.
Peter Hermann and Sebastian Geppert will both be part of Edin Terzic’s coaching staff, Borussia Dortmund have announced. The duo were Terzic’s preferred candidates and their appointments have now been confirmed.
Edin Terzic was appointed Borussia Dortmund head coach after the club’s decision to part ways with Marco Rose. It was reported last month that he wanted to bring in someone experienced to his staff.
And the BVB bosses have decided to bring in Peter Hermann, who is one of the most highly regarded trainers in Germany. The 70 year old began his coaching career in the late 1980s and will bring plenty of experience and title winning know-how to the BVB coaching team.
Hermann enjoyed plenty of success at Bayern Munich as assistant coach to Jupp Heynckes and Niko Kovac. Most recently, he helped Schalke 04 win promotion to the Bundesliga under Mike Büskens before leaving the club at the end of the season. Now he joins Borussia Dortmund, where he will be hoping to enjoy similar success.
Sebastian Geppert has been the head coach of the Borussia Dortmund U-17s since 2016. He was also part of Terzic’s coaching team when the latter replaced Lucien Favre as interim head coach in December 2020. The duo helped guide the Black and Yellows to the DFB-Pokal title last year.
The Borussia Dortmund players will begin their preparations for the new season on June 27, and the first pre-season friendly is scheduled for July 05.
