Italian side Lazio are looking for a new left-back, and Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schulz is said to be on their list of targets.

Nico Schulz is free to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer, and Italy could be a potential destination for him. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Italian side SS Lazio are considering a move for the left-back.

The newspaper claims Lazio are looking for bargain signings, and Schulz is one of the names on their list of targets for left-back. Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri is said to be Lazio’s top target, but they are unlikely to be able to afford him. So Lazio are reportedly looking at Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schulz and Celta Vigo’s Javi Galan as potential alternatives.

The Black and Yellows are ready to sell Schulz this summer for a cut-price transfer fee. The 29 year old has failed to make the desired impact since joining Borussia Dortmund from TSG Hoffenheim in 2019. And even though he still has two years left on his contract, the BVB bosses are keen to part ways with him this summer.

Schulz has been limited to just 61 appearances over the last three years, with Raphael Guerreiro ahead of him in the pecking order at left-back. The future of Guerreiro also remains uncertain, with Borussia Dortmund reportedly looking to sign a new left-back this summer.

It remains to be seen just how much truth there is to this rumour. But after three underwhelming years, both Borussia Dortmund and Nico Schulz will be hoping to end their collaboration this summer.
