Report: Borussia Dortmund planning to intensify Sasa Kalajdzic talks soon
By Tushar Bahl
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly planning to intensify talks over the signature of VfB Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic later this month.
Sasa Kalajdzic is one of the names on Borussia Dortmund’s list of targets as they look to replace the Manchester City-bound Erling Haaland. Competition is high for the Austrian international’s signature, with the likes of Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Paris St. Germain also interested in signing him.
And according to BILD, Borussia Dortmund have a clear plan to come out on top in the race for his signature. The tabloid claims that Sasa Kalajdzic is now the favourite to replace Haaland and the BVB bosses will look to intensify their attempts to sign him from June 20.
The 24 year old is currently on international duty with Austria, and has two more games left to play before he can go on vacation. Kalajdzic is likely to leave VfB Stuttgart this summer, but he recently said that he will not rush into a decision about his future.
Kalajdzic has one year left on his current contract with VfB Stuttgart, and a transfer for him would cost around 25 million euros. The towering striker scored six goals in 15 appearances in the recently concluded season, and helped Stuttgart avoid relegation from the Bundesliga.
Borussia Dortmund also have Sebastien Haller on their shortlist. The former Eintracht Frankfurt striker has been heavily linked with a move to Dortmund in recent months, and Ajax reportedly want around 35 million euros for him. BILD believe that the asking price would make him too expensive for Dortmund.
