Borussia Dortmund are reportedly expected to hold talks with Mahmoud Dahoud soon to extend the midfielder’s contract.
A new contract appears to be in the offing for Mahmoud Dahoud, with the midfielder considered to be an important part of Borussia Dortmund’s rebuild by sporting director Sebastian Kehl. According to BILD, Dahoud feels very much at home in Dortmund and talks over a new contract are expected to take place soon.
Dahoud has enjoyed a stunning turnaround over the last 18 months, going from a fringe player to a regular starter for Borussia Dortmund. He made 30 appearances in the recently concluded season, scoring two goals and assisting a further seven.
The German international missed the final few games of the season due to a shoulder injury, and his absence was heavily felt in the BVB midfield.
Dahoud only signed a one year contract extension with Borussia Dortmund last year. But with his current deal set to expire at the end of next season, he is set to be offered another new contract.
Edin Terzic played a crucial role in Dahoud’s renaissance at Borussia Dortmund last year, and the two will be reunited next season with the former set to take over as head coach once again. The 26 year old will no doubt be vital to Terzic’s plans for next season.
Mahmoud Dahoud joined Borussia Dortmund from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2017 and has made a total of 131 appearances for the club. Next season promises to be a fascinating one for both him and the Black and Yellows.
