Borussia Dortmund internationals: Jude Bellingham and England suffer heavy defeat
By Tushar Bahl
Jude Bellingham and England had an evening to forget on Tuesday as they suffered a shock 4-0 defeat at home to Hungary in the UEFA Nations League.
Jude Bellingham started for England as they took on Hungary in their final game of the international break on Tuesday. But a disappointing showing from the Three Lions saw them suffer their worst home defeat since 1928.
Buoyed by their 1-0 win over England in the reverse fixture, Hungary took the lead early on with Roland Sallai making it 1-0 in the 16th minute. The SC Freiburg striker then doubled his tally in the second half, before late goals from Zsolt Nagy and Daniel Gazdag secured an incredible win for Hungary.
Thorgan Hazard and Axel Witsel both started for Belgium in their 1-0 win over Poland. Former Borussia Dortmund striker Michy Batshuayi scored what proved to be the winning goal in the 16th minute. Thomas Meunier was rested for the game by head coach Roberto Martinez, having only just made his return after a long injury lay-off.
Turkey took a massive step towards promotion to Group B of the UEFA Nations League as they beat Lithuania 2-0 on Tuesday. New Borussia Dortmund signing Salih Özcan started for Turkey and delivered an impressive performance in defensive midfield.
With the international break now over, the players involved can look forward to a small break. The Borussia Dortmund players are set to begin pre-season training on June 27. But the players who were on international duty will likely return to training at a later date.
