Report: Borussia Dortmund open to Raphael Guerreiro exit
By Tushar Bahl
Borussia Dortmund have reportedly indicated to Raphael Guerreiro that they will not put any obstacles in his way if he decides to leave the club this summer.
The future of Raphael Guerreiro has come under doubt in recent weeks, with reports claiming that Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing David Raum from TSG Hoffenheim. According to Ruhr Nachrichten, the BVB bosses have told the Portuguese international that they would be open to the prospect of him leaving the club this summer.
The report adds that Guerreiro remains relaxed about his future, as he feels comfortable at Borussia Dortmund. He even said in February that he would be willing to extend his contract with the club.
The Black and Yellows are looking for a transfer fee in the region of 20-25 million euros for the left-back. But they have yet to receive a concrete offer for him.
Guerreiro’s contract with Borussia Dortmund is set to expire at the end of next season, and there have not been any talks regarding a possible extension as of yet. However, that could change if Dortmund do not receive an offer for the 28 year old this summer as they do not want to lose him on a free transfer next year. So it still remains to be seen if Guerreiro will leave BVB this summer.
Raphael Guerreiro joined Borussia Dortmund in 2016 and has made 188 appearances for the club. He struggled with injury problems in the recently concluded season and wasn’t able to find much consistency as a result.
