Borussia Dortmund are reportedly set to face competition from English Premier League clubs in the race to sign TSG Hoffenheim left-back David Raum.

It is no secret that Borussia Dortmund want to sign David Raum this summer. But TSG Hoffenheim are reportedly looking for a transfer fee of around 40 million euros for the left-back, which could well prove to be an obstacle in a potential move.

Raum is keen on a move to Borussia Dortmund, and also spoke about his desire to play in the UEFA Champions League recently.

However, the Black and Yellows would first need to sell a few players in order to generate the funds required for his signature. Raphael Guerreiro, Manuel Akanji and Nico Schulz are among the players Borussia Dortmund could sell to make way for Raum.

But a number of English Premier League clubs are also said to be in the race to sign the German international.

According to BILD, English Premier League clubs West Ham United and Newcastle United are interested in signing Raum. And both clubs are expected to be able to meet Hoffenheim’s asking price of 40 million euros. Manchester City have also been linked with a move for Raum in recent weeks.

David Raum still has four years left on his contract with TSG Hoffenheim, but chances are that he could be on the move this summer. The 24 year old, who only joined Hoffenheim from Greuther Fürth last summer, is coming off an excellent season that saw him score three goals and register 13 assists.
