Bayer Leverkusen striker Lucas Alario could be a potential short-term option for Borussia Dortmund as they look to sign a replacement for Erling Haaland.
Signing a new striker is Borussia Dortmund’s top priority for the summer transfer window following Erling Haaland’s move to Manchester City. A number of names have been mentioned in the Black and Yellows’ striker search in recent weeks.
And now Ruhr Nachrichten are reporting that Lucas Alario could offer a potential short-term solution for Borussia Dortmund in their bid to sign a new number nine. According to the newspaper, the BVB bosses are considering the 29 year old as an alternative to their other targets.
Alario is not being thought of as a long-term transfer, but rather an inexpensive short-term fix. Due to a release clause in his contract, Alario would be available for a transfer fee of around six million euros. Ruhr Nachrichten believe that the total package to sign the Argentinian striker would cost around 15 million euros.
Alario has plenty of Bundesliga experience, and has scored 58 goals in 163 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen. However, he has dropped down the pecking order in Leverkusen and is set to leave the club this summer.
Eintracht Frankfurt are also interested in signing Lucas Alario, and Ruhr Nachrichten expect a decision on his future to be made in the coming week. So Borussia Dortmund would need to hurry if they want to secure his signature.
