Highly rated trio set to train with the Borussia Dortmund first-team for the start of pre-season

The Borussia Dortmund players are set to kick-start their preparations for the new season next week, and three youngsters will train with the first-team at least for the start of pre-season.

The start of the 2022/23 season is just over a month away and the Borussia Dortmund first-team players are set to return to training on Monday. Head coach Edin Terzic will not be able to count on all his senior players initially though, with those involved on international duty earlier this month set to receive an extended break.

The likes of Jude Bellingham, Nico Schlotterbeck, Karim Adeyemi, and Niklas Süle are not expected to return to training until the start of July. While Marco Reus is dealing with an injury, and it remains to be seen when he will be able to make his return to training.

The absence of a number of first-team players could give some Borussia Dortmund youngsters a chance to make an impression over the course of pre-season.

According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Bradley Fink, Lion Semic and Göktan Gürpüz will all train with the first-team, at least for the start of pre-season.

All three players played a crucial role in the U-19s’ success this season. Semic and Gürpüz have already signed professional contracts with Borussia Dortmund, and the former made his first-team debut in April. While Fink is set to play for the U-23s in the 3. Liga next season. He scored 34 goals in just 30 appearances for the BVB U-19s in the recently concluded campaign.
