Report: Raphael Guerreiro wants to stay at Borussia Dortmund despite exit rumours
Raphael Guerreiro is reportedly keen to stay at Borussia Dortmund beyond the summer despite the club’s interest in signing David Raum.
Borussia Dortmund are said to be interested in signing TSG Hoffenheim left-back David Raum, and that has put Raphael Guerreiro’s future at the club in doubt. But the Portuguese international reportedly does not want to leave this summer, as he sees his future in Dortmund.
This is being reported by WAZ, who add that Borussia Dortmund will not be able to sell Guerreiro this summer against his will. The left-back has just one year left on his current contract.
It was reported last month that the BVB bosses are willing to part ways with Guerreiro this summer as they look to replace him with David Raum. But the 28 year old has always stated that he feels comfortable at the club, and even indicated in February that he would be willing to extend his contract.
Guerreiro, who is Borussia Dortmund’s first-choice left-back, is coming off a rather underwhelming season that saw him struggle with injuries and consistency.
Second-choice left-back Nico Schulz is also free to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer. The former TSG Hoffenheim player’s agent stated last month that his client is open to a move away from BVB, but he will not leave just for the sake of a transfer.
Schulz still has two years left on his Borussia Dortmund contract. According to WAZ, it remains to be seen if Dortmund will be able to find a buyer for him before the end of the transfer window.
