Nico Schulz is not expected to be a part of the Borussia Dortmund squad that will travel to Switzerland on Friday for a week long training camp.

Borussia Dortmund are set to leave Nico Schulz out of the squad for their week long training camp in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland. This is being reported by Ruhr Nachrichten, who add that the left-back may well have to train individually or with the U-23s squad once he recovers from the ankle problems he is dealing with at the moment. Although BILD claim that Schulz will travel to Switzerland with the rest of the team.

Head coach Edin Terzic said after training on Monday that Schulz is aware of his situation, without going into too much detail.

Nico Schulz is free to leave Borussia Dortmund, just three years after joining the club from TSG Hoffenheim for a fee of around 25 million euros. The Black and Yellows have yet to receive a concrete offer for the 29 year old, who still has two years left on his contract.

Roger Wittmann, who is Schulz’ agent, claimed last month that his client is very open to a move away from Borussia Dortmund this summer. But it still remains to be seen if a buyer will be found before transfer deadline day.

Borussia Dortmund have two very talented young left-backs in their ranks in Prince Aning and Tom Rothe, who could replace Schulz in the first-team. They are also said to be interested in signing David Raum from TSG Hoffenheim. Although the potential sale of Schulz will not be enough to generate the funds required to sign the German international.
