Borussia Dortmund are working to extend the contract of Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, and there are high hopes that an agreement will be reached soon.

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens made his mark on the Bundesliga on Friday as he played an instrumental role in Borussia Dortmund’s come from behind 3-1 win over SC Freiburg. Just days after celebrating his 18th birthday, the highly rated winger scored his first ever goal in professional football. And now, a new contract appears to be in the offing for him.

According to WAZ, Borussia Dortmund are looking to offer Bynoe-Gittens a new contract to reflect his growing importance to the team. The England U-19s international also feels very comfortable at the club, and the report adds that talks have been progressing harmoniously so far. There is high optimism that an agreement will be reached soon, possibly even in the coming days.

Bynoe-Gittens has gone from strength to strength in recent months. After leading the Borussia Dortmund U-19s to the U-19s Bundesliga title, he was rewarded with a place in the first-team squad. The former Manchester City youth academy player also helped the England U-19s win the European Championships last month.

Friday’s appearance against SC Freiburg was Bynoe-Gittens’ sixth for the Borussia Dortmund first-team. His performance saw him earn plenty of praise, with BVB head coach Edin Terzic calling him a game-changer.
