Borussia Dortmund striker Bradley Fink set for FC Basel move
Young striker Bradley Fink is set to leave Borussia Dortmund and join FC Basel on a permanent deal, according to multiple reports in Germany.
Bradley Fink is closing in on a permanent move away from Borussia Dortmund, with reports claiming that he is set to join Swiss Super League club FC Basel. According to Ruhr Nachrichten, the highly rated striker is already in Basel and the move will be made official soon. The Black and Yellows will receive a fee in the region of 800,000 euros for the 19 year old.
Fink enjoyed a prolific campaign last season with the Borussia Dortmund U-19s, as he scored 35 goals in just 31 appearances across all competitions and led them to the U-19s Bundesliga title. The initial plan was for him to play as the first-choice striker for the U-23s team this season, but the BVB bosses have now agreed to let him leave in search of first-team football.
The Switzerland U-20s international trained with the Borussia Dortmund first-team for parts of the pre-season and also scored in the friendly match against Lüner SV. But with Sebastien Haller, Youssoufa Moukoko and Anthony Modeste ahead of him in the pecking order, the chances of him getting much playing time in the BVB first-team appeared to be very slim.
If Bradley Fink’s proposed move to FC Basel goes through, Borussia Dortmund will look to sign a new striker for the U-23s team before the transfer window closes. Fink scored the winner Christian Preußer’s side against Rot-Weiss Essen last weekend, giving them their first win of the season. And it looks like that will prove to be his final goal for the club.
