Report: Youssoufa Moukoko contract negotiations continuing to stall
By Tushar Bahl
Negotiations between Borussia Dortmund and Youssoufa Moukoko over a new contract are continuing to stall, with the striker still reluctant to sign an extension.
Youssoufa Moukoko’s future has been the subject of a lot of speculation in recent months. The highly rated striker’s current contract with Borussia Dortmund is set to expire at the end of the season, and an extension does not appear to be in sight as of yet.
Moukoko appears to be reluctant to extend his contract with Borussia Dortmund, and is in no rush to make a decision on his future. According to BILD, the BVB bosses are offering the 17 year old a new long-term contract that would see him earn an annual salary of more than four million euros.
But Moukoko’s agent is demanding an annual salary of up to six million euros for his client. In addition, the Germany U-21s international also wants significantly more playing time in the first-team. The tabloid adds that talks have now been stalling for weeks, and have been postponed until the winter break.
Moukoko has made nine appearances across all competitions for Borussia Dortmund this season, scoring important goals against SC Freiburg and Schalke 04. But he has been limited to just 270 minutes of playing time, with his last start for the club coming back in early August.
A number of big clubs are said to be monitoring Youssoufa Moukoko’s contract situation at Borussia Dortmund. And with less than one year left on his current contract, it still remains to be seen what the future holds for him.
