The lack of options in attack could force Edin Terzic to go with Karim Adeyemi, Donyell Malen and Youssoufa Moukoko as his starting front three on Sunday.
Adeyemi has managed to show glimpses of his quality since making his return from injury. And he will be aiming to make an impact against a Union Berlin side that will no doubt look to defend deep and make things difficult for Borussia Dortmund’s attacking players.
Malen has not been able to build on the encouraging signs that his promising early season performances brought. But a strong performance against Union Berlin would go a long way in helping him find some confidence.
Moukoko scored his first ever goal in senior football in this fixture two years ago, becoming the youngest player to ever score a goal in the Bundesliga. And he will look to make a similar impact this weekend after impressing on each of his last two starts for Borussia Dortmund.
