Borussia Dortmund vs VfB Stuttgart: Team News
By Tushar Bahl
Borussia Dortmund will be in Bundesliga action on Saturday as they take on a resurgent VfB Stuttgart side at the Signal Iduna Park.
Borussia Dortmund’s busy run of games continues this weekend with a home game against VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga. Edin Terzic’s side will be looking for a bounce back win after suffering a 2-0 defeat against Union Berlin last weekend. But Stuttgart have won their last two games, scoring an impressive ten goals in the process. So they could pose a big threat to the Black and Yellows on Saturday.
October has certainly not gone according to plan for Borussia Dortmund. Despite ending their losing streak against Bayern Munich and beating Sevilla away from home, BVB have found it difficult to get their attack firing on a consistent basis.
And Wednesday’s unconvincing win over Hannover 96 in the DFB-Pokal will have done little to improve the mood surrounding the club.
Borussia Dortmund also suffered another big injury blow on Wednesday, as Thomas Meunier suffered a fractured cheekbone and will now be sidelined until the World Cup break. Marco Reus is also sidelined. While Marius Wolf is dealing with an infection and remains a doubt.
Borussia Dortmund are set for a reunion with Dan-Axel Zagadou, who joined VfB Stuttgart on a free transfer in the summer. The defender will be keen to put in a strong performance against his former club on Saturday.
Stuttgart will be without Josha Vagnoman on Saturday, but the right-back is closing in on his return from injury.
