Report: Borussia Dortmund intensify interest in Ramy Bensebaini
By Tushar Bahl
Borussia Dortmund have reportedly stepped up their interest in Borussia Mönchengladbach full-back Ramy Bensebaini with a view to a potential move for him in January.
Left-back is an area where Borussia Dortmund do not have too much depth, with Raphael Guerreiro the only senior option in the team. The BVB bosses are looking to bring in reinforcements, and they could renew their interest in Borussia Mönchengladbach full-back Ramy Bensebaini.
Borussia Dortmund were linked with a move for Bensebaini during the summer transfer window as well. But nothing materialised in the end. Now, Ruhr Nachrichten are reporting that the Black and Yellows are intensifying their efforts to sign the Algerian international.
Bensebaini has less than one year left on his Borussia Mönchengladbach contract, and it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.
Ruhr Nachrichten believe that Borussia Dortmund may even consider making a move for the 27 year old during the January transfer window. This is because the financial outlay would not be significantly higher than signing him on a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer.
Ramy Bensebaini has scored five goals in 12 appearances for Borussia Mönchengladbach so far this season. He is primarily a left-back, but is also capable of playing as a wing-back, a centre-back in a back three and in midfield.
It remains to be seen if Borussia Dortmund will look to make a move for Bensebaini. But his potential arrival would certainly bolster the team in an area that desperately needs some reinforcement, especially with Raphael Guerreiro’s contract expiring at the end of the season.
