Edin Terzic has said that Marco Reus is closing in on his return, and he could make his comeback against VfL Bochum this weekend.

Marco Reus suffered an ankle injury during Borussia Dortmund’s Bundesliga clash against Schalke 04 in September. He made his return against Union Berlin last month, but suffered another setback and has missed the team’s last four games as a result.

Borussia Dortmund will have to make do without Marco Reus once again on Wednesday as they take on FC Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League. But head coach Edin Terzic gave a positive update on the club captain’s status during his pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

"“Marco trained with us yesterday, but it was not enough for Copenhagen yet,” Terzic said. “He will now work for two days in Dortmund, and then be back with us on Thursday. The big goal is for him to be available to us again on Saturday.”"

Reus will be determined to make his return to action as soon as possible as he looks to gain match sharpness in time for the FIFA World Cup. The 33 year old made an impressive start to the season and is expected to be named in the Germany squad for the tournament in Qatar as long as he is fully fit.

Marco Reus has made 11 appearances for Borussia Dortmund so far this season, and has three goals and four assists to his name.

Following their clash against Copenhagen on Wednesday, Borussia Dortmund will have three more games left to play in the Bundesliga before the World Cup. The Black and Yellows are set to face VfL Bochum this weekend, before going up against VfL Wolfsburg and Borussia Mönchengladbach next week.
