Borussia Dortmund are said to be considering signing Ramy Bensebaini on a free transfer, with the left-back high on their list of targets.

Borussia Dortmund are looking to bolster their squad at left-back, and Ramy Bensebaini is said to attracting their interest. Ruhr Nachrichten reported last week that the Black and Yellows have stepped up their interest in the Borussia Mönchengladbach player, and they could even make a move for him in January.

Now Sky Sport have confirmed Borussia Dortmund’s interest in Bensebaini. Although they are claiming that BVB are currently not considering signing him during the winter transfer window. However, the report adds that the Algerian international could well imagine a move to Dortmund next summer, with his current contract set to expire at the end of the season.

Ramy Bensebaini joined Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2019 and has established himself as one of the best left-backs in the Bundesliga. He has made a total of 96 appearances for the Foals, scoring 23 goals and assisting a further 7. The 27 year old was heavily linked with a move to BVB in the summer as well, but nothing materialised in the end.

Left-back is a position where Borussia Dortmund desperately need reinforcements, with Raphael Guerreiro considered to be the only viable starting option in the squad at the moment. And the Portuguese international’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

Bensebaini is capable of playing both at left-back and at centre-back in a back three. And that could make him a very attractive option for Borussia Dortmund.
