Borussia Dortmund will take on Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga on Friday evening in what will be their final game of 2022.
Borussia Dortmund will be aiming to end their year on a high as they go up against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Friday evening. With the Bundesliga set to take a two-month break after this weekend’s matches, the Black and Yellows will be eager to get the three points and keep pace with their top four rivals.
Edin Terzic’s side suffered a blow in their Bundesliga title bid on Tuesday, as they were handed a 2-0 defeat by Wolfsburg.
Borussia Mönchengladbach will offer BVB another tough test on Friday. The Foals are currently in the middle of a rebuild under former Borussia Dortmund U-23s coach Daniel Farke. They suffered a shock defeat away to VfL Bochum on Tuesday, but have one of the best home records in the league this season.
Borussia Dortmund will once again be without Marco Reus, with the club captain also set to miss the 2022 FIFA World Cup. BVB will also have to make do without their seven long-term absentees once again on Friday.
Borussia Mönchengladbach are set to be without a number of players on Friday, including Florian Neuhaus, Alassane Pléa, Yann Sommer, Mamadou Doucouré and Hannes Wolf. Third choice goalkeeper Jan Olschowsky will start between the sticks. Ko Itakura could also be an option after making progress on his recovery from his knee injury.
