Five Borussia Dortmund players have been called up by the Germany national team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Hansi Flick has revealed his 26-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and five Borussia Dortmund players have made the cut. Niklas Süle, Nico Schlotterbeck, Julian Brandt, Karim Adeyemi and Youssoufa Moukoko will all be making the trip to Qatar with the Germany national team.
Youssoufa Moukoko has received his first call-up to the Germany senior team on the back of his impressive recent performances for Borussia Dortmund. The 17 year old has six goals and four assists to his name in 13 Bundesliga appearances so far this season.
Moukoko will join the likes of Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sané, Thomas Müller, Karim Adeyemi and Kai Havertz in the Germany attack at the World Cup.
Borussia Dortmund defensive duo Niklas Süle and Nico Schlotterbeck have also been included in the Germany squad. Although Mats Hummels has been left out of the squad despite his outstanding recent performances for the Black and Yellows.
Julian Brandt has been called up by Hansi Flick, but Marco Reus misses out after failing to fully recover in time from his ankle injury.
Former Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder and 2014 World Cup winner Mario Götze has also made his return to the Germany squad. And Werder Bremen striker Niclas Füllkrug has received his first call-up to the national team in the absence of the injured Timo Werner.
Germany will begin their 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign against Japan on November 23, and will also go up against Spain and Costa Rica in the group stage.
