Report: Borussia Dortmund unlikely to make major signings in January
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly unlikely to make any major moves in the January transfer window as things stand at the moment.
It has been a roller coaster of a season so far for Borussia Dortmund, who find themselves in sixth place in the Bundesliga standings going into the winter break. There are a number of concerns for Edin Terzic and Sebastian Kehl to deal with as they conduct an analysis of the season so far.
But according to WAZ, Borussia Dortmund are rather unlikely to react to their recent woes by making major moves in the upcoming winter transfer window. The newspaper does add that if they do decide to make new signings in January, they may well look to bolster their attack.
The Black and Yellows have struggled for goals so far this season. And the need for a new forward could certainly arise if there are any indications that Sebastien Haller’s recovery from his illness will still take a long time.
Borussia Dortmund are also interested in signing Ramy Bensebaini from Borussia Mönchengladbach. And WAZ claim that the move for the left-back is expected to go through when his contract with the Foals expires at the end of the season.
The BVB bosses also have a number of contract issues to deal with. Several key players will be out of contract at the end of the season, including Marco Reus, Mats Hummels, Youssoufa Moukoko, Raphael Guerreiro, and Mahmoud Dahoud. And decisions on their futures will likely be made in the coming months.
