Borussia Dortmund are reportedly keeping tabs on Feyenoord right-back Lutsharel Geertruida, amid claims that they will look to bolster the full-back positions in the summer.

Highly rated Feyenoord right-back Lutsharel Geertruida is attracting the interest of Borussia Dortmund. This is being reported by Dutch outlet 1908.nl, who add that the Black and Yellows have been following the progress of the 22 year old for the last 12 months now.

Geertruida joined the Rotterdam-based club back in 2018 and climbed through the club’s youth ranks before making his breakthrough in the senior team. The Netherlands U-21s international has made a total of 125 appearances for the Dutch side, scoring 13 goals and assisting a further four.

Geertruida is primarily a right-back, but he is also capable of playing at centre-back and in defensive midfield. His versatility could make him a useful addition for Borussia Dortmund, who will likely look to bring in a number of defensive reinforcements in the summer.

Lutsharel Geertruida has just over 18 months left on his current contract with Feyenoord, and the two parties have not yet been able to reach an agreement over an extension.

It remains to be seen how real Borussia Dortmund’s interest is in signing Geertruida. But the BVB bosses may look to bring in a new right-back next summer, with Thomas Meunier facing an uncertain future at the club. The Belgian international is once again being linked with a move to FC Barcelona. And a number of other clubs are also said to be interested in his signature, including Manchester United and AC Milan.
