Report: Lutsharel Geertruida not a transfer candidate for Borussia Dortmund
Borussia Dortmund are not interested in signing Feyenoord right-back Lutsharel Geertruida despite being linked with a move for him in recent days.
It was reported by BILD earlier this week that Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Lutsharel Geertruida as the long-term replacement for Thomas Meunier. But that claim has now been rubbished by Ruhr Nachrichten, with the newspaper claiming that the Black and Yellows have not shown any concrete interest in the player so far.
The report adds that Geertruida has been offered to Borussia Dortmund. But so far, the BVB bosses have not held talks or done any special scouting with a view to a potential move for the right-back.
Borussia Dortmund look set to make a number of changes to their squad in the full-back positions in the coming months. Thomas Meunier and Raphael Guerreiro both appear to be nearing the end of their BVB careers.
Borussia Mönchengladbach left-back Ramy Bensebaini is expected to arrive on a free transfer and replace the latter. While Lutsharel Geertruida has been touted as the potential long-term successor to the former. But it looks like there is not much truth to this rumour at the moment.
Geertruida is enjoying an impressive season with Feyenoord and a number of clubs in Europe are said to be interested in signing him. The 22 year old has made a total of 15 appearances so far this season, and has one goal and one assist to his name. He has just over 18 months left on his current contract with the Dutch side.
