Borussia Dortmund are said to be closing in on the appointment of Armin Reutershahn as an assistant coach to replace Peter Hermann.
Borussia Dortmund have been on the hunt for an assistant coach following Peter Hermann’s decision to step down from the role and retire due to health reasons. Now it looks like they have found their successor to Hermann. According to BILD, the Black and Yellows are on the verge of adding Armin Reutershahn to Edin Terzic’s coaching staff.
The tabloid adds that a number of coaches have been offered to Borussia Dortmund in recent weeks. But Reutershahn has always been one of the top candidates.
And now it appears that an agreement is close to being reached, and the 62 year old’s appointment could be confirmed before the first-team players return to training on January 02. He could then join the team at their training camp in Spain as they prepare for the start of the second half of the season.
Reutershahn is considered to be a highly regarded trainer in Germany and has worked with the likes of Julian Nagelsmann, Niko Kovac, Adi Hütter, and Friedhelm Funkel in the past.
He also has plenty of Bundesliga experience under his belt, having worked at clubs like Hamburger SV, Eintracht Frankfurt, TSG Hoffenheim, and Borussia Mönchengladbach. So he would bring plenty of experience to the Borussia Dortmund dugout if he joins the club.
Armin Reutershahn has been without a club since Adi Hütter’s departure from Borussia Mönchengladbach at the end of last season. And now he could be set for a move to Borussia Dortmund.
